The recently abolished Negros Island Region has once again been split up between the Western Visayas and the Central Visayas Regions. Yet, it occurred to us that many travelers would likely still want to know whats available in this region as a whole, so we’ve kept it here for your convenience.
This is a Charming and gentle region, full of arts and scenery. Negros Island Region (region 18), is an interesting region comprised of only a surprising two regions that are essentially separated by a mountain range. Perhaps this is what makes the area so unique, you can be in the mountain one minute, then be at the either coast line the next. A low cost of living, beautiful landscape and people, make this region an outstanding place to retire.
Although there are many great cities and villages in this region, not all are appealing to tourists. The recommended tourist destinations include: Dumaguete, Bais City, Apo Island, Bancong, Talisay City, Silay, Sagay, Lakawon Island, Sipalay, Punta Ballo, Campomanes Bay, Benedicto, and Danjugan Island. The top 3 destinations by popularity are pictured below.
